Transport in Benin
Getting around Benin is not difficult. The country has public transportation that takes you wonderfully from one city to another. Although they are managed by private operators, they facilitate the movement of populations.
Getting around Benin is not difficult. The country has public transportation that takes you wonderfully from one city to another. Although they are managed by private operators, they facilitate the movement of populations. Each day the country's vehicle fleet is renewed with the sale of used cars known as '' imported from France''. These cars flood the country. Since 2016 the government has innovated with the acquisition of thousands of yellow taxis that have revolutionized urban transportation in the country. What a marvel! Comfortable, fast and affordable, yellow taxis have invaded the major cities to the delight of the population and especially tourists. Cotonou, Porto-Novo, Ouidah, Abomey, Parakou, Natitingou, Djougou have welcomed these means of transport with enthusiasm.
To this must be added the eternal motorcycle taxi commonly called ''Zemidjan'' which is the most used means of transport in the country. Motorcycle taxis have no limits. They take you everywhere in villages, neighborhoods, homes. Efficient, fast and very practical, Beninese people prefer them.
What means of transportation does the Voyages Modestes agency have? To accomplish its mission, Voyages Modestes has equipped itself with transportation adapted to the circuits it offers. Modern vehicles. Thus for couple travels, we offer small comfortable cars that combine safety and intimacy. They allow traveling couples to make the journey on their own but accompanied by their guide-driver. This formula is also suitable for honeymoons or romantic getaways. For photo safaris in national parks and reserves we have a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle equipped with an observation platform on the roof where travelers can sit and observe wildlife. This way of traveling is the best to experience authentic Benin, discover beautiful vegetation, and get accustomed to African heat. For group travels of 7 to 12 people, we have a robust air-conditioned minibus suited to the roads and adapted to responsible tourism. This bus combines comfort, exchange and sharing. Throughout the journey, the driver and guide try to create a pleasant atmosphere on the bus to allow travelers to be transported and fully experience their adventure. Thus traditional music sessions are offered to relieve stress and enhance the journey. Finally we have motorcycles for impassable trails and for motorcycle travel. A way to travel ''the Beninese way'' that loves motorcycle taxis too much.
